This Happened More Then 8 Years Ago...

...and on Monday 16th December 2013 we celebrated our 8th Year Anniversary.

Here is an epic journal of that day...

It started early in the morning when my youngest son jumped into our bed...and I jumped out of my bed to go downstairs and make my wife a lovely breakfast...

...that night, I had already prepared a letter on the laptop with a box behind it, wrapped in gift paper and inside that box there was a ring...

...the letter stated that the ring is a symbol of a 'new covenant', that I will love her and take care of her for at least the next 8 years to come :)

Next to the laptop I lit up 2 beautifull candles and on the other side I had set a vase with 7 red roses and 1 white rose as a symbol of 8 year of marriage.

As she got up from bed to walk up to our dressoir, she read the letter and got emotional, I was still in bed, but as I was looking at her, I could feel it as well and shed a few tears myself...it was a beatiful moment...

...but little did I know my wife had some surprises of her self...

...she arranged 2 days of relaxation and enjoyment, which was totally amazing, over the top and just incredibly arranged and thought through.

After dropping the kids off at school, we drove all the way back to my home town and had lunch together at one of our favourite restaurants.

Shortly after that she took us to the docks, where we would spend the day, night and morning on the yacht Azulon/Alexander Onassis, formerly owned by the famous opera singer Maria Callas.

As we got our quick tour an the yacht, the current owner of the yacht, shared with us the tragic story of Maria Callas and her relationship with Onassis, but what's amazing about the story is how the current owner found the yacht as a shipwreck in Spain and how he was able to get the yacht, on sea, to The Netherlands, as the yacht was almost sinking, and how he was able to restore it's royalty and original design and appearance and turn it into a private hotel....

...Truely An Amazing Story!

That night my wife took as to the sauna where we relaxed and where whe arranged for me to get a lovely massage

After spending the night on the yacht, we got breakfast on the yacht prepared by the owner of the yacht.

That afternoon, after finishing our breakfast, we went to see The Hobbit 2.

That same evening we would go to a comedy theatre show...unfortunately something went wrong with the tickets, so our seats were canceled.

Nevertheless, we decided to do some (window) shopping and finish the night of with Tapas :)
